Hypnosis and Relaxation can help yr Skin

Can chilling out actually help with skin conditions? Yes it can!

Relaxation techniques have physiological effects. When you relax using hypnosis, meditation or yoga your body relaxes numerous helpful and health-giving neurotransmitters. Researchers have found that psoriasis clears up faster oftentimes in those patiens who listened to meditation tapes along with getting ultraviolet phototherapy, than those who received ultraviolet phototherapy alone.

Stress and sleep deprivation raise stress horomone levels - this has all sorts of different health implications including making the body more acidic. A more acidic body will age more quickly and be more "friendly" to disease.

You wouldn't want to be completely free of stress. Even pets have a bit of stress; they have to get up and go outside or protect the house, etc. What you want to do is learn to manage the stress so that you do not internalize it. One easy affirmation to meditate on is "I am not my stress but the manager of it."

You can use the time just before you fall asleep to repeat helpful phrases such as "every day in every way I'm getting healthier and happier" and dwell upon that phrase as you fall asleep. Quickly you will find your body relaxing as you drift into sleep with this positive thought on your mind. The last thought on your mind is what will run through your mind while you sleep so it might as well be something positive yes? Doing this is a form of self-hypnosis.

If you are interested in meditation classes; I run one every 2nd Monday in Green Bay. Just email me at watrish@aol.com or visit www.thepeaceandwellnesscenter.com for more information. And for hypnosis, if you are in the greater Green Bay area I would love to help you with stress management and if you are too far away to come in person; I'm happy to refer you to a collegue in your area.

Allergies can be a Bummer!

I'm lucky! I don't have allergies but many of my friends, family members and clients have allergies. They get tired of treating it with all the medications and inhalers and eventually give the essential oils a try. Most of them find great relief from this natural way of treating them.

Essential oils are nature's first medicine! Essential oils are like the blood of a plant so they each have a unique chemistry and vibration. In ancient times they were almost more valuable than gold! And I can tell you that with all these viruses running around; the oils are more valuable to me than gold too!

So what do my friends, family and clients do to treat their allergies. Well, for starters they use a therapeutic grade essential oil to insure that it is the highest quality. This is important because some of the less quality oils have had their molecular structure changed and adulterated so they can actually make things worse for your health than better. They prefer the brand I've been using for over 12 years - Young Living.

They start with Lavender from YL and put a drop or two on the back of their neck; if they have super sensitive skin they put it in a carrier oil such as olive, jojoba or some other natural oil. They also put a drop or two of lavender in hot water or tea at night and ingest it so that it can work as an adaptogen helping the body adapt to the environment. Some of them diffuse Thieves (I'll write more about that next). And most of them use the blends of RC and Raven which are designed specifically for the lungs. Overall the oils are not that expensive and generally are free of side-effects. If you'd like to order lavender, or some of the others; feel free to use my sponsor #77597 and go to http://www.youngliving.com/ They have offices in Australia, Europe, Canada, Japan and Mexico. You can set up your account easily via the internet.

Thieves is a powerful essential oil blend with a strange but accurate name. You might be asking yourself... what does she mean by that??? Dr. Young named this product Thieves because the recipe is based on a combination of oils that a band of theives used during the black plague so they could strenghten their immune system well enough to steal from those who had died from the plague without getting sick from the dead people. Amazing huh? Thieves is incredibly powerful against black mold, molds in general, airborne bacterias, viruses etc. If you are wondering... yes, I have some with me at all times and diffuse it regularly to keep my environment free of any pathogens especially now as we enter "flu" season. This is a link to a booklet on Thieves http://www.youngliving.us/pdfs/lit-thieves_booklet.pdf

If you have questions feel free to post here or email me at watrish@aol.com If you want to go right to their website there is great info about how to use the oils and the uses specific to each type of oil. You'll probably want to jot my sponsor #77597 down so you can use it when you set up an account later or you can just come back here to find it again. You'll need it to order any of the oils.

Spring is a time of new beginnings

How excellent to start my blog during the season of new beginnings! Spring is my favorite season because it is so magical and leaves me pondering the way every tree and plant comes up slightly different with a variety of flowers and shapes. There are the intoxicating fragrances floating through the air lifting our spirits and our eyes as we seek out the source of the scents.

It is a time when we can become more actively involved in the magic of nature by planting a garden or tending flowers that we purchase at a store or garden house. And of course; in the work that I do oftentimes we think of the mind as a garden. The seeds that are in the garden of our minds are our thoughts. Whatever we sow in our garden of our mind we will harvest some time or another so it is good to review the thoughts we entertain regularly in our mind and start removing the "weeds" and planting more "flowers". For help removing those weeds and planting those flowers - look to affirmations and/or hypnosis; either self-hypnosis or hypnosis with a trained professional hypnotherapist.

If you are looking for a simple fun thing to do this Spring; check out www.thistledowngreenhouse.com for their Fairy Festival on June 20th.

May this Spring be a new beginning for you! If not in a big way; perhaps in a small way. Find something that you'd like to begin again or begin anew! And get those weeds out of your garden of your mind. :)
